Tools for learning – Flashcards

Designed to make learning French engaging and enjoyable, these flashcards are perfect for beginners and intermediate learners alike. Each card features vibrant illustrations, useful vocabulary, and fun exercises to help you build your language skills quickly and effectively. Whether you’re studying at home, on the go, or in the classroom, French Fun Flashcards are the perfect tool to boost your confidence and fluency.

Teachers love flashcards. They are short little bursts of information. They are great for the kinesthetic learners – which we have (oh yes), in the classrooms now. I wanted some standard vocab lists that I use all of the time. I’ve been in Grade one for over ten years now, and the list of words that I need them to know changes just a bit from year to year.

There are already over 60 decks of beginning French vocabulary decks to start with. There are also vocabulary to help teach all of the sounds in French with pared down or scaffolded language. As a teacher, you can pick from three ways of working with the words, flip, match, or test.

The teacher dashboard makes it easy to add in a class with a picture sign in for young students. Here you can pick the vocabulary that you need for your class, monitor the work they are doing, and print progress reports.

I continue to add to the global word bank. However, if you need to create a personalized list, the opportunity to add them is here. (I would welcome suggested lists to add to the global word bank. Email at support@frenchfun.ca)

Teachers also have the opportunity to choose which decks to show, how they want them to be seen (words or pictures) Some of the vocab lists are longer (and growing….) but there is an opportunity to choose only the words that you would like to focus on. (especially good for younger students who benefit from smaller word lists.

I think it is also important to see the student dashboard. Students will sign on with a class code and then a pin number given to them by their teacher. Inside of the app, there are no advertisements or other distractions. Audio has been added to help with the pronunciation. The pictures below show the three games:

I too, have been working on developing that SOR time in my language block. I have lists of words that I have been using to learn and practice so many of our French sounds. These card decks can help with extra practice on these sounds
